Being Had Services.

Since I have been here, or better, since I have been blogging about Belarus I have been contacted by many people to do different sorts of "legwork" jobs, which are only possible from inside Belarus. Some of these jobs have been fun and some haven't been, but in each case, I think we saved people some time and money and in other cases, have brought some real happiness by helping people do things that had been impossible up untill then. So for this website, we decided to offer a few of these services publicly. These are not the only things that are possible, but this list can give you a good idea of a few ways that we can help.

1. Archive and People Searches:

This is the most obvious and popular chore. Many of us are from here or have relatives who are still living here. Finding one's heritage is very interesting to a lot of people. Want to find out something about your grandmother or grandfather? Want to find a long lost aunt or uncle. It is very possible to do so from the inside. If you are coming out to Belarus, we can help you find the right places to find what you are looking for. And if you are not, we can do the leg work for you.

2. Document acquisition and translation.

If you are planning on doing business in Belarus or if you have someone in your family who does, there are often many documents which are needed for business, housing, travel and other needs. We have gotten property documents settled, registered cars and have been involved in citizen and residency documents.

3. Business Contacts

Looking for business opportunities in Belarus? Want to know who is doing what without the cost of sending your man out here yourself? We have many times done some investigative legwork for people looking to invest or purchase here. We are here on the ground, we know our around. Let us help.

4. Hotel, Transport, and Translator help

This is basically the same things as are mentioned on the travel page. We have a lot of travel experience and can make coming here a lot easier and more comfortable.

5. Virtual Tours

This is my personal favorite and I have really enjoyed the few occasions I have had to do this sort of work. Making a Virtual tour is taking a trip out to a particular town where our client has hailed from and taking pictures, videos and interviews with the locals. In most of the cases we have managed to actually find exact locations where family members lived. We then can either post the resluts on the web or send them to you on disk. If you can't come out to Belarus yourself because of time or expense, we can make a virtual tour for you.

6. Homestead Real Estate

This is connected to the previous item, but there are cases where people have wanted to "reclaim" lands which were once owned by their family. This is a tricky proposition, but it is very possible.

7. Virtual Mail

If you have relatives in Belarus, it is not always the case that they have e-mail and certainly, it is not always so that they speak English. Also, sending letters to Belarus often takes weeks to get there. Why not use being had for your virtual post office and translation service? You send us the letter you want delivered in an E-mail, we translate it and mail it off to your people within 24 hours. They can also reply through us if you like and we can send their letter back the same way. We can also, for a fee, make 'hand deliveries' to avoid sending "cash" through the mail.

8. Finding Russian Langauge Books, Music or Movies

Looking for Pushkin, Chekhov or Tolstoy in the original Russian? For us it is simply a trip to the bookstore…

9. Posting Ads in Belarusian Newspapers

Pretty self explainatory, but you would be surprised how easy it is from here and how hard it is from there. We can also help design russian language advertising for your mail order business as well.

We don't really do Russian Brides, but from time to time, I have tried to hook friends up.
